Every other Saturday we host a FREE AC Breakfast and training lesson/orientation meeting, to show you how central AC systems work, explain all the parts of a residential and light commercial AC system, talk about self employment opportunities, jobs available, pay, and your future in the HVAC business. If you qualify, we have grants for Broward residents, VA post 911, as well as grants from the school to pay for part or all of the entire class! Post 911 GI benefits accepted with on the spot enrollment. Applications for grants will be given out to all attendees at the meeting. Classes include all certifications and HVAC licenses, diagnostic tools, trade school diploma, and job placement! RESIDENTIAL/LIGHT COMMERCIAL HVAC CLASS HVAC MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN CLASS
In just 4 weeks, you will receive 185 hours of intensive technical HVAC training on how to fix, maintain, and install residential central AC systems. Most training is hands on, fixing systems just like you will find in the field.
Our specialized intensive training (5 days a week, Monday through Friday) includes instruction on refrigeration cycle theory, use of specialized tools, systems trouble shooting and repair, electrical diagram reading, electrical component diagnosis and repair, system maintenance, installation and repair of central air conditioning systems and instruction on electric heat strip systems
You will learn to diagnose, replace and repair contactors, capacitors, transformers, blower motors, fan motors, thermostats, repair electrical problems, completely wire systems, braze, solder, clean coils, install UV lights, drain safety switches, install locking caps, fix leaking shrader valves, fix leaks in line sets, blow out drains, build drain traps, and more!
You will work on residential AC units just like the 21 million residents of Florida own, and need repaired! Diagnostic tools of the trade are included in every course!
Our weekend HVAC maintenance class teaches the same repairs and installation techniques, but is shorter (60 hours vs 185) and held on weekends to accommodate students with jobs who are seeking a new career. A favorite course for maintenance technicians who need the HVAC credentials to get or move up in job status, or for new technicians looking to enter the HVAC business.
Our HVAC academy is run by instructors with over 100 combined years in the service and teaching end of the business. We teach you what you need to know to feel comfortable on the job site, and provide a solid base to move forward with your new career. We provide you with the knowledge that you have the tools and training to get the job done right.
South Florida Academy of AC offers a unique hands on learning approach that gives students the practical knowledge to repair and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC equipment in the field.
Classes will be held in a classroom/ lab atmosphere, where students will be instructed to repair and replace components on over 20 working HVAC systems similar to what the student will find in the field.
A position as a certified HVAC technician in the HVAC industry can lead to both personal and professional success. Look in your Sunday newspaper, or on line employment sites, you will see many job openings for qualified HVAC service personnel, one of the few industries hiring in either a good or bad economy, and one of the biggest service businesses in Florida! - Upon completion of the course, all students will receive a Diploma in HVAC Technician Training from South Florida Academy of Air Conditioning signed by school Director.
- In addition, upon passing their National EPA exam, the student will receive their National HVAC-EPA Certification with Certificate and EPA Universal Technician license card, essential for employment in the HVAC industry, good in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
